PowerVolt Group, including PowerVolt, Ensign Corporation and Wabash Transformer, is committed to defining its place in the marketplace and understanding how relevant factors arising from external issues (i.e., legal, political, economic, social, technological, and environmental) influence its strategic direction and organizational context. This document outlines our Environmental Policy and approach to ensure continuous compliance.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

 

PowerVolt Group is committed to protecting the environment as a part of its business practice. We do this by adhering to the following principles:

  • Compliance
    • We comply with all applicable laws, regulations and permits and implement programs and procedures to assure compliance.
    • We proactively participate with local, state and federal agencies to assure an understanding of the requirements and also the basis for the requirements.
  • Prevention
    • We employ procedures and systems designed to prevent activities that pose threats to the environment.
    • We minimize risk and protect our employees and the community in which we operate.
  • Communication
    • We communicate our commitment to environmental protection to our employees, suppliers and customers.
    • We ask each member of the supply chain (internal and external) to help meeting our goals.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • We continuously seek opportunities to improve our understanding and adherence to these principles.

Our Environmental Policy is our framework for a responsible Environmental Management System (EMS) and defines a formal approach to managing environmental issues within our organization. It is based on the concept that environmental issues should be managed the same way that an organization manages its core business functions and links the environmental concerns with economic considerations.

The EMS model leads to continual improvement based upon:

  • Planning: such as identify environmental impacts that result from process operations; establish goals.
  • Doing: such as environmental reduction projects or training.
  • Checking: such as monitoring.
  • Acting: such as management review and program adjustment
